The city of Genoa, with its rich maritime heritage, is once again poised to host an event that epitomizes luxury, craftsmanship, and innovation. The Genoa International Boat Show, now in its 64rd edition, beckons enthusiasts, experts, and connoisseurs from around the globe to experience the pinnacle of yachting excellence.

A Bit of History:

The Genoa International Boat Show first set sail on 7th January 1962, marking the beginning of an illustrious journey. Conceived by the Ente Fiera di Genova in 1956, the event was envisioned to spotlight Italy's burgeoning maritime industry.

The inaugural show, under the leadership of its first president, Giuseppe De Andrè, saw participation from 430 exhibitors from 18 countries. This was a time when boats were showcased on land rather than water, a testament to the evolving preferences and practices of the industry. Over the years, the show has grown exponentially, both in scale and stature, reflecting the dynamism and resilience of the yachting world.

The Exhibition Area:

From its initial 30,000 square meters of exhibition space, the Genoa Boat Show has expanded to a sprawling 200,000 square meters, both on land and water.

The 63rd edition, held in 2023, boasted 1,000 boats and almost 1,000 brands.

The show's layout is a harmonious blend of five distinct salons:

  • TECH TRADE
  • SAILING WORLD
  • BOATING DISCOVERY
  • YACHT AND SUPERYACHT
  • LIVING THE SEA

Each salon, while complementary, offers a unique experience tailored to cater to specific interests and needs.

Design Excellence:

The Design Innovation Award, initiated in 2020 by the Italian Marine Industry Association and I Saloni Nautici, stands as a testament to the industry's commitment to innovation, sustainability, and design. With a jury comprising experts from diverse sectors, the award recognizes and celebrates the best in yachting design and innovation.

City Events:

The Boat Show is not just an exhibition; it's a city-wide celebration. Genoa comes alive with a plethora of events organized by Confcommercio’s CIVs. From musical performances in the Cesarea Garden to the 'Street food Carignano e 500 fest, the city offers a rich tapestry of experiences for visitors.

The Levante Project:

The future of the Genoa International Boat Show looks even more promising with the ongoing redevelopment project helmed by the iconic architect Renzo Piano. The new Eastern Waterfront, set to be completed by 2024, will redefine the Boat Show experience. With navigable canals, the spectacular Blue Pavilion island, new exhibition quays, and over 150 new berths, the show is set to offer an unparalleled visual and experiential treat.
